Floating Floors Direct has supplied and installed flooring from our Hornsby showroom since 2005. Our flooring service areas cover the Upper North Shore, the Hills District, the Northern Beaches, greater Sydney, the Central Coast and Newcastle.

Every job is quoted by Bill and laid by the same small team of installers
we’ve used for years, not subcontracted out to whoever is available. That’s why most of our work comes from repeat customers, referrals and other flooring shops who send us their installations.

Hornsby and the Upper North Shore

Our showroom is at 1/22 Leighton Place, Hornsby — walk in and see timber, laminate, hybrid, bamboo, vinyl, cork and carpet underfoot before you commit to a colour from a photo. Hornsby is our home base, so measure-ups and installations across the Upper North Shore are usually the quickest to schedule. Suburbs we cover: Hornsby, Waitara, Wahroonga, Normanhurst, Thornleigh, Pennant Hills, Asquith, Mount Colah, Berowra, Turramurra, Pymble and St Ives.

Castle Hill and the Hills District

The Hills District is one of our busiest regions, with a mix of new builds and older homes replacing tired carpet with hybrid or timber. Many Hills homes have suspended timber subfloors that need proper preparation before a floating floor goes down — we assess this at quote stage rather than on installation day. Suburbs we cover: Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Norwest, Rouse Hill, Dural, Glenhaven, Cherrybrook and West Pennant Hills.

Northern Beaches

Coastal homes see more moisture movement than inland ones, which changes what we’ll recommend. Hybrid and quality vinyl handle humidity and salt air better than some engineered timbers, and we’ll tell you honestly when a product isn’t right for your site.

Throughout the process, he gave us thoughtful, practical and professional advice, particularly around product selection, subfloor preparation, staging the installation while we were still living in the house, and the treatment of the stairs. Matt and Adam, the installation team, were outstanding. To replace carpet in your living and dining room about 60 square metres is a time consuming task. You have to get it right, and I found that Floating Floors Direct were eager to help in this regard. Thank you Bill Grogan for your assistance during the selection process but also the unexpected costs that may arise during installation, was made clear so I knew what I was up for if the worst happened. The installation team were very professional, they moved all the furniture and did an excellent job, Matt and Adam, down to earth good blokes, very experienced, highly recommend them.

We had an outstanding experience with Floating Floors Direct Hornsby! We needed old carpet removed and new bamboo floorboards installed to match the rest of our house, and they absolutely delivered. Their attention to detail was exceptional, especially when it came to matching the existing bamboo—the new floors blend in perfectly, which we didn't think was possible. The team was incredibly careful, even managing to gently remove and reuse the original skirting boards, saving us a significant amount of money and hassle.
